Licensing

IN RUSSIA

In accordance with Russian legislation, a company is to obtain a license in order to conduct the particular types of business activity, such as:

• banking activities
• activity connected with protection of state secrets
• activity connected with production and sale of ethanol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products
• activity connected with communication service
• exchange activities
• activity in the sphere of customs law
• notarial activities
• insurance activities
• professional participants of the securities market activity
• conduct of foreign economic operations
• investment trust activity
• investment trust management; unit trust management; private pension funds management
•  activity of private pension funds on pension coverage and annuity insurance etc.


In addition Federal law No. 128-FZ dated 08  August 2001 “On licensing specific types of activity” contains more than 100 types of activities, conduction of which requires receipt of a license.

IN UKRAINE

The Law of Ukraine ¹ 1775-III “On the Licensing of Certain Types of Economic Activity” dated 01 June 2000 contains about 70 types of activities the conduct of which requires obtaining a license, including but not limited to the following activities.

• banking services;
• financial services;
• insurance activities;
• electrical energy production, supply and transportation;
• heat energy production;
• activity connected with communication services;
• activities connected with production and sale of ethanol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products, etc.
